Abstract

|
A retrospective clinical study was made on 44 cases of ectopic pregnancy and 20 cases of normal pregnancy by measurement of serum hCH, progesterone, amylase and peritoneal amylase.
The results showed that there was significant difference in serum beta-hCG between ectopic pregnancy and normal pregnancy according to gestational age (P <0.05), and also more significant difference was found in serum progesterone (p<.001).
But, serum amylase levels according to the gestational age in ectopic pregnancy were not substantially than the corresponding those in normal pregnancy.
This study suggests that the use of serum progesterone in conjunction with serum beta-hCG may be valuable in early identifying the ectopic pregnancy.
